"Now You See Me" (2013)- Review

Image
Is it a crime of manipulation or is it really magic? You'll have to be amazed! I absolutely LOVED the film! A sequel should be made--it was just that "magical" to me! Woody is a riot! He is really funny in his role & there are so many shocking twists & turns-if you aren't Sir David Copperfield....you will never EVER going to be able to figure out the plot of the movie and who is real and who is fake! Who is the person behind the crimes? Is it The Four Horsemen? Is it one individual? When Morgan Freeman says in the trailer: "come in close--because the more you think you see...the easier it will be to fool you;" he LITERALLY means it. Pay really close attention because this movie throws so many twists and curve balls that you do not see coming it is amazing. I loved this movie. This is one of the BEST FILMS OF 2013 by far in my candid opinion. It was well beyond worth the wait, I "trick you not." I felt the introduction to all four main cast…

"Fast & Furious 6" (2013)- Review

Image
I absolutely loved the movie from the starting line to the finish line. The opening was epic! I love the music & great imagery around the film. The vibe centered around these films are hip-hop; gorgeous women; & fast cars. Three popular and ever out of style elements in today's society! I love the Fast/Furious franchise. The films just keep getting better & hotter! Tyrese is just a nut in the films & never a dull moment with him. Ludacris just makes the weirdest facial expressions & does the silliest things to make me crack up. When Vin & The Rock team up-they are a force to be reckoned with! There is a shocking twist towards the close of the film & stay for the credits for the introduction for a Fast 7! I loved how they use flashbacks from the 5 previous films into this one. It keeps the franchise alive when films do this-I like it! Nothing more to say except enjoy the ride because they definitely take you on one helluva roller coaster...so buckle up!

"The Hangover 3" (2013)- Review

Image
Epic! The Wolfpack made a great exit into whatever avenues they desire since The Hangovers will no longer exist. I MUST say that the concept was well-thought out. To have cast members from the first two films & showing flashbacks and how they made all three films fit perfectly was AMAZING! The end of the film could not have been done any better! The close was just that...a close! You have to see it to understand where I am coming from. Everything played out exactly as someone would have guessed had they seen every film in the franchise! All four guys did phenomenally. Zach G. really plays the role of Alan to a T. I cannot imagine anyone else to portray that role. Ken J. is another who captures the screen. Ed H. is behind them. Bradley C. & Justin B. are two actors to me seem to just be there. They don't grab my attention as much as the others do. They may say, on occasion something funny or do something funny-but they are not like on the go ALWAYS like Ed, Zach,  and Ken. …

"Disconnect" (2013)- Review

Image
Astonishing. Mesmerizing. Heart-pounding. This movie was so deep, real, intense, but most of all-emotional. I could literally feel the pain, hurt, loss, & anguish of the characters. This film hits...and it hits you hard. It has serious messages to relay to audiences. There are consequences-some severe to your actions; you never realize what people are holding inside; adaptability to things not good for you; not realizing the importance of family and stability. The movie was not sad or depressing. It was hard to watch. The film explored a network of people who all were "disconnected" and disenchanted in their everyday lives and it showed how deep the pain was for them. As the film progresses, you can see how certain people are connected & how at the close of the film-everything and everyone "gets connected." The movie is deep & very serious. It touches on real issues that can and are going on someplace in society. It makes you stop and think about so man…

"Peeples" (2013)- Review

Image
The stars of this movie were Merkerson & Robinson! Those two captured the screen! Kerry & the rest of the cast fall behind these two! The introduction of Wade was drop-dead hilarious to me! Daphne Peeples was a character, a trip, a hot mess! She really acted her part. Peeples just seemed like the correct title for the movie & The Peeples Family. You have to see the movie to understand what I mean. Kerry's facial expressions & HOW she said things made her acting funny in this role. Robinson is just a born natural funny guy. Lol! I found the movie to be very entertaining. It really makes you drop to your knees and burst into tears....after you laugh for a while. The Peeples are good peeples! Haha!

"The Great Gatsby" (2013)- Review

Image
The movie was magnificent! It was well worth the wait-DiCaprio did NOT disappoint! He captured the screen in 2 scenes solo without the rest of the movie! He & Mulligan worked really great together. Their characters chemistry was on point! The trailer to the film was a bit deceiving & I LOVED that because trailers show you short clips and voices that do not match what you see. That is how this film is. The opening of the movie matched out perfectly with the beginning! The introduction to Gatsby was just...perfect! Isla Fisher had a small part in the film but in the short scenes she was in-she shined & partied down! Leo should be nominated for this picture! He was astonishing just as Carey was. Maguire was telling the story and how the set up was--it was like a fairy tale. Everyone did a great job! Maguire's role was more funny because of his facial expressions & how he reacted to things. There were times he was serious & the other times-his character was just su…

"Iron Man 3" in IMAX 3D (2013)- Review

Image
I was fooled by one part with The Mandarin. The preview was misleading-but in a good way because that one part was not  at all. I felt that the suspense could have been delayed a little bit later in the film, but other than that-I really enjoyed it a lot! There is NO NEED to see it in 3D. Seeing it in regular is just fine enough. I wanted to see more scenes with Pepper. But Downey has this charisma and style about Tony where he can be a suave gentleman with a hint of humor and without any time at all...he can be a cool badass! I like that about his character in these movies. I don't know if it is makeup or what be he looked really young and alive in the movie! His facial expressions CAPTIVATE the screen. He did a wonderful job & so did Guy Pearce. Very enjoyable & stay for the ending credits!
