"Live By Night" → Gets Dimmer & Dimmer w/Time!

Film Synopsis: A group of Boston-bred gangsters set up shop in balmy Florida during the Prohibition era, facing off against the competition and the Ku Klux Klan.

First off, I have to say- watching this movie was like me re-watching the very infamous, "Godfather" with Marlon Brando & Al Pacino. Ben Affleck did one very stellar & terrific job at portraying a monster crime boss and mad man gangster!

His look, extensive collections of hats, and his killer swag all wrapped up into one was what him soar in this film. True, the film had action, crime, and the murders
were a bit on the mild gory side (not as in the actual Godfather or hardcore Tarintino). When Affleck killed someone or his accomplices killed someone it was BAM- right on camera in front of your face and blood splattering every place you can see! That's intense!

The introduction of Graciella was perfect & was the climax of the film I felt simply because she was not like his former love who he seemed to was always be infatuated with, Emma.

In fact, she was the exact opposite (will NOT give it away why they are totally different).

She saved him! Being rescued by some one does not mean that you are weak. She saw the good in him...she needed for him to see that too about himself.

That was the best part of the film. It might have been about crime and killing, but she never let him kill the love that they shared.

That was & is the highlight of the film once she entered the scene. The film is entitled the way it is because at night that is when Joe Coughlin lived the most vicariously. I wish the film would have been better, but it was still a good movie but had the potential to be better...
