"The Beguiled" → Easily Deceived!

Film Synopsis: At a girls school in Virginia, during the Civil War, where the young women have been sheltered from the outside world, a wounded Union solider (Colin Ferrell) is taken in. Soon, the house is taken over with sexual tension, rivalries, & an unexpected turn of events!

This was a very slow-moving movie! I was intrigued with it by the story line and Nicole Kidman. Her performance was epic! I will praise Kidman's work in every film I do. She is very well deserving of it!

But, unfortunately, overall- the film was NOT as good as I expected or anticipated- it was very weak and there was no climax. The poor picture quality, the acting from half of the cast (mainly the little girls portraying students mostly), down to the overall vibe of the film was bad.

I tend to tell the absolute truth about film when I critique them- Colin Ferrell & Nicole Kidman were the leads and Elle Fanning and Kirsten Dunst were the supporting actresses.

The little girls were funny in the little things that they said or did, but overall the film was about all of the females in the house ranging from young to middle-aged.

There is NOTHING suspenseful or dramatic about or in this movie- sorry to say. I am not trying to rip the movie to shreds, but being brutally honest like Ms. Martha (played by Kidman) was in the film.

She was very candid about her thoughts and spoke her mind and she had no problem caring if some one like it or not. She was going to be herself!

Like it or not! In conclusion, this is not a movie that I would advise seeing unless you want to pay for a movie to put you to sleep....or you are a big fan of the director or a particular actor/actress....you never really know if a movie is worth seeing unless you read a critics review or mine-

But I am telling you the women might be vengeful in this movie, but the movie itself is not fierce as Ms. Martha and her life lessons she tired to teach to her girls! Take it from me!
