"Lucy" (2014)- Review

This movie was—intensely intriguing. I say that because Lucy, the main character in the film was both “intense” & “intriguing.” I have to admit that the movie could have been a bit better and the way that it ended was appropriate but at the same time, not. It seems as if a sequel will be made, but I am not going to be in favor of it. The start of the film was really graphic and illuminating! I was all into it. The killing was unusual; but still funny to see and not gory nor was it gruesome. There were scenes within the film where you HAD to chuckle a smile because facial expressions & and certain things that characters did and said were in fact, funny. Morgan Freeman did not have a big role in the film but the beginning of the film matched the ending. I will give the film that! I loved the comparisons that the film kept on making between the animals and people. I want to say that I loved the film, but what I loved the absolute best was the plot. It was something that was reall…

"Sex Tape" (2014)- Review

A flawlessly made movie! This movie was- sexually contagious & delicious! It is RARE that I feel the way that I do about this movie. This movie gave me shocks throughout my entire body! It made me feel alive and vibrant because the laughter was ongoing for the entire film from start to finish! My eyes were red, mouth was hurting, eyes watering, jumping in and out of my seat, etc. All the correct feelings of a person who enjoyed a positively entertaining comedy movie! Diaz and Segel really had on-screen chemistry. If anyone asked me to identify one of my favorite scenes, I literally can't. I would simply say-"the ENTIRE SEX TAPE" was my favorite part! I mean the sex tape they made, the entire movie, the...everything! This is my new favorite movie when someone asks me. I have never laughed so hard and so much in a comedy movie like I did in this movie! The opening scene was perfect because it laid the foundation down for the film. The biggest shocker was a certain acto…

"The Purge 2: Anarchy" (2014)- Review

The sequel to this film was a tad more gruesome; not hardcore- but bloodier and and vile than that of the first film. There were a few actors in this film that were in the first and it was good to see their return. The main actor of the film was Frank Grillo and he played a badass tough guy role from beginning to end. The masks were the creepy and chilling part of the movie to me. That was disturbing. I just love how in horror films they get a close up shot of a character and then- boom, someone or something slashes or shoots them just unexpectedly leaving the audience in total awe. Being predictable is a bad thing, but being unpredictable is always a definite good thing in horror films. That is what this film had. You never saw certain things coming. You would think one thing and then the total opposite of what you thought would happen, didn’t. I loved that! It would be crazy to think if a purge actually existed in today’s world. I would be so scared out of my mind. You’ve got to adm…
