"Kidnap" → A Riveting Retrieval

Film Synopsis: A mother (Halle Berry) will stop at nothing to recover her kidnapped son.

This was such a heart-pounding, on the edge of your seat thrilling and definite bone-chilling movie! Halle Berry tapped into what every mother would do if not go further if her child was abducted.

I really felt scared for her character and the kid who played her son. This film was so real and Halle and Sage (mother & son) really made me feel as I was watching the film that they were really trying to find their way back to one another.

I had the opportunity to see the film a month early in New Orleans where I live and she had a live question & answer period and was doing a rapid meet and greet before we got a chance to see the film.

She was very sweet and humble to us all- I must say; that is Halle- a total sweetheart!! But in the film- she is a lethal mother 'shut ur mouth! Lol!

I know that this film has been seen most likely on the fire stick or online in some form or fashion- but if yo…

"Girls Trip" → TBA

Film Synopsis: The story of four life long friends: Ryan (Regina Hall), Sasha (QueenLatifah), Dina (Tiffany Haddish), & Lisa (Jada Pinkett-Smith) who travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Music Festival where sisterhoods are re-kindled & wild sides are rediscovered!

"Wish Upon" → Wishes Successfully Granted!

Film Synopsis: A teenage girl (Joey King) discovers a box that carries magical powers & a very deadly price for using them.

I had been eagerly awaiting the arrival for this film ever since I heard and read about it.

I am a huge fan of horror films. Always have been- but there was some thing that piqued my interest with one. It wasn't like the REGULAR EVERYDAY normal films. There was a little mystery with it.

Not like make 7 wishes and then you die. It took it a step further. Claire, basically was a high school kid that got bullied and she fought back by finding her own power within herself to stand up to others, but then when the box came to her (courtesy of someone- nottelling whom) she succumbed to its magical charms- wanting more & more of its power.

She was NOT fulling paying attention of its supernatural repercussions to her wishes. She let what the box was giving her cloud her judgement and the type of person that she was.

It took her two best friends and especially he…

"Spider-Man: Homecoming" → A Tightly Glued Young Man!

Film Synopsis: Several months after the events of Captain America: Civil War, Peter Parker (Tom Holland), with the help of his mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) tries to balance his life as an ordinary high school student in Queens, New York while fighting crime as his superhero alter ego, Spider-Man as a new threat emerges: the Vulture.

Out of all of the three Spider men that there have been- Holland really is a natural at it. Maybe having a kid play Spiderman was all that was needed to be a huge success! McGuire was older while Garfield was young, but he wasn't in the same mindset of acting as Holland is.

I praised Tom Holland's performance in this film. He took it & made it all his own. He was nutty, loopy, and a kid all at the same time while being funny rescuing and saving the day...each and every single day of his life.

The way that he was introduced by Tony Stark was stellar because Tony Stark is head of the Avengers and he is funny just as Spider man.

These two…

"The House" → It Drowns!

Film Synopsis: A dad (Will Ferrell) convinces his friends to start an illegal casino in his basement after he & his wife (Amy Poehler) spend their daughter's college fund.

I won't say that this was a totally unfunny film, but to have two great comedians in a movie together, you would never suspect that it would be a disaster- or even a flop, right? Actors can make terrible films. That is the perception in the entertainment business- whether you have an Oscar or not, that particular actor/actress can make a movie that bombs like this one did, to me.

I'm NOT saying that you need to go & rent this film on Red box or wait for it to come out on DVD, fire-stick, and whatnot. It was not a terrible film but I feel with comedy movies it can go either way- either you try to be funny or it just comes natural.

When it comes natural and you act and say something stupid as in spoof movies, that is off the wall hilarious! Both Amy & Will were a riot in the film, but the overall…

"The Beguiled" → Easily Deceived!

Film Synopsis: At a girls school in Virginia, during the Civil War, where the young women have been sheltered from the outside world, a wounded Union solider (Colin Ferrell) is taken in. Soon, the house is taken over with sexual tension, rivalries, & an unexpected turn of events!

This was a very slow-moving movie! I was intrigued with it by the story line and Nicole Kidman. Her performance was epic! I will praise Kidman's work in every film I do. She is very well deserving of it!

But, unfortunately, overall- the film was NOT as good as I expected or anticipated- it was very weak and there was no climax. The poor picture quality, the acting from half of the cast (mainly the little girls portraying students mostly), down to the overall vibe of the film was bad.

I tend to tell the absolute truth about film when I critique them- Colin Ferrell & Nicole Kidman were the leads and Elle Fanning and Kirsten Dunst were the supporting actresses.

The little girls were funny in the little…

"Baby Driver" → Gears Into First!

Film Synopsis: After being coerced into working for a crime boss (Kevin Spacey), a young getaway driver (Ansel Elgort) finds himself taking part in a heist doomed to fail...

I had an opportunity to see the movie at an early private advanced screening on 5/31/17 & it was awesomely amazing to say the least! Do you know how when you see a movie for the first time and the film is so great and flawless- you simply can't seem to see anyone else portray that role than the one person whom you saw?

But you are also aware that they most likely auditioned hundreds of other actors before making that final choice? That is Ansel Elgort! After seeing this film, I simply cannot see how anyone else could have played the role of baby. I just can't! There is no way! He was a NATURAL!

I couldn't find one single flaw- he added slices of humor whenever he did sing or mock a song and dance to a song for his foster father. Ansel actually is a really good singer as well. You should check out hi…
