"Focus" (2015)- Review

This was a highly anticipated movie for me.....I assume that I am partial because I love Will Smith and Margot Robbie is one gorgeous young woman and it was filmed where I live: New Orleans. The movie reminded me of Lay The Favorite with Bruce Willis & Catherine Zeta-Jones; which incidentally was filmed in New Orleans as well. Robbie was sensational!

She caught on the game and was playing everyone- that is what's so funny about this movie- so many are getting played that there really is no such thing as "the main bad guy." Just when you think its one way and one person calling the shots- a curve-ball is thrown and you miss it. Never a dull moment, but there are funny moments in this film. Smith & Robbie had on-screen chemistry.

I could see it and could feel it. There is nothing that I can say bad about the movie. It was an action/comedy type genre of a film. I can see why the name of the film is what it is because you have to do the title of this movie in order to…

"The Lazarus Effect" (2015)- Review

To say that this film was based off the Bible, it was NOT that good. It was just average. I have NO idea why horror films cannot be good! What will it take or -who will it take to produce a masterpiece horror film? I had to get that out of my system first! Whew!

Olivia Wilde played a really good role in the film, but she was the only one who I felt gave 100%. When she was alive and normal- she was 100% and when she got possessed, she not only surpassed my expectations- she excelled! The way that the movie ended, there is a cause to make another one. I could appreciate how the opening credits came on- that was perfect & a very good way to introduce what the film was going to be about; the same exact way Breaking Dawn, Part 2 came on showing Bella's transformation.

This film was rather slow in the beginning but as it progressed on, it got more exciting and scarier. Even though I love scary movies; the anticipation of waiting for something to happen that you KNOW will, in fact, h…

"Kingsman: The Secret Service" (2015)- Review

The movie was good and Samuel L. Jackson was a tremendous part of that considering his character had such a "new age" style and feel. His character was like this Pimp Daddy of 2015! Seriously. He acted just like a bookie or some sort of criminal mastermind who was in charge of heavy duty criminal acts. He gave one stellar ass performance- no lie! The killing in the movie was (can't put my finger on it) ______.

The killing wasn't gory as if you were watching a Q. Tarintino film. The massive killings happened so fast as if it happened in a blink of an eye. Not all of the killing scenes were terribly gruesome, but they were indeed brutal, but looked fake/staged instead of looking natural. They looked too over the top, to me. Other than that, the film was awesome.

Stay for the credits at the end. Watching this movie is like playing've got to stay on top of everyone and everything. Jackson's loyal assistant is truly "sharp" at what she does! T…

"Fifty Shades of Grey" IMAX (2015)- Review

I read the books and the movie was a mere appetizer to what contents were in the books. The books were detailed, precise, and graphic. The movie was R-rated but not Rx rated if you wanted the full Christian Grey treatment. Lol!

Don't get me wrong- the film was steamy, graphic, and damn delicious! Me, personally, I do not see how men can get turned on treating a women like things and the women getting any sort of fulfillment or satisfaction being treated like an inapt object. I had the chance to see the film on Thursday evening in IMAX & IT WAS WONDERFUL!

For instance, in certain scenes where body parts and lips and erotic things were zoomed in to show the audience how intense the S&M and the passion for dominance was- I felt that was a great touch. It made me really get into the movie and get in Christian's head to fully understand why he CHOSE to be the man he was.

The character of Ana was played beautifully and she was acting like any normal woman would act if they we…
