"Come Play" So You Can Be Larry's Yummy Electric Prey!

 Travis' Grade Of: [B-]

Would I recommend YOU to pay to see this in the theater? SURE! WHY NOT! IT IS NOT BAD, BUT IT IS NOT ONE OF THOSE SCARY MOVIES THAT YOU WILL FALL ASLEEP TO! I CAN SAY THAT!

My Critique On "Come Play" is this - I did not initially have high expectations for the film, but did set some expectations b/c as we all know.....

Film Synopsis: A long-limbed monster named Larry targets Oliver, (played by Azhy Robertson) a non-verbal autistic young boy along with his family, friends, & classmates as well as other victims by manifesting through their smart phones, computers, television screens, and other electronic devices!

Classification of Film: Drama, Mystery, & Horror

....scary movies are very, very, very, and I do mean very hard to make now a days. I have seen so many horrible scary movies that it is not even funny. So many are coming to mind now as I am typing up this review.

When I fall asleep in a horror movie, you know some thing is wrong! THAT IS NOT THE CASE WITH THIS FILM! This movie was pretty unique and awesome, actually. I have never seen anything like this before. I loved the concept of a creature coming after innocent children through electronic devices before.

We have all heard of soul swapping and possession, but this was a concept that I had never seen or heard of before; it never came to my mind immediately so I have to give the Director and the writer props for coming up with the idea. That collaboration was genius!

Newer and fresher ideas are always needed and horror films will always be a hit at the Box Office esp. on a Halloween Weekend so bravo for the film being No. #1 when it opened up! Congrats!!! From the way the film was progressing on, I kind of had a feeling on what would have with a specific character in the movie and NO I will not say who because I never give spoilers in any of my ratings!

You will have to watch it and see for yourself! It is sort of bittersweet actually and matches the ending. Something else that I really admired about the film was the friendship that Oliver and Byron had. Sometimes kids really can set the example for adults I tell you. It does not matter if it is acting on screen or if it is in real life staring you right in front of your face.

Kids just have that "special gift" where they can teach adults things where no other human being can't and I just think that is such an incredible thing! I recognized that in the film and I had to point that out in my review. The unconditional love that Oliver's mother had for him was complicated, but it was there and it is like the old saying goes....I would say it, but I can't guys. Sorry.

That would be giving you a hint or a spoiler. In conclusion, the film was enjoyable and I think that you will get a few chills out of it and remember you can't leave until the story ends....Good Luck!

THIS MOVIE IS 100% WORTH SEEING!!!
