Film Synopsis: An agoraphobic psychologist (played by Amy Adams) befriends a neighbor (played by Juilanne Moore) across the street from her New York City brownstone condo, only to see her own life turned upside down when the woman disappears and she suspects foul play! Can you imagine??? Doesn't this sound like insanity? What would you do?

My, oh my. Where do I begin? And I do say that in such an average way. The movie was right to sell to Netflix. I do not think that it would have made a lot of money in theaters now that I have finally watched it.

The first half of the movie was very slow - BUT it does set the tone for the second half of the film, but when you piece it all together, the overall product still is pretty average. I have seen films with a somewhat similar premise and it's enjoyable and interesting.

This? Not so much. If you were to go online and read articles about the movie, you will be reading similar to what I am writing and they are all - accurate! I can say that Amy Adams played her role fiercely! That is the only thing fabulous about the film!

I will admit from the trailer - I was intrigued, but isn't that the point of movie trailers - to show you the good scenes and have music that attracts and scenes that allure you to be interested and that catches YOUR eye? That is what this film does! TRICKS YOU!!! If I had to rate the movie in parts, I would have to give the first half a "D" and the second half an "A."

Hence, my overall candid opinion, the film gets a "C" in my book. It is not worthy of a "B" no matter how the first half sets the tone for the ending/second half. The first half should have kept the audience's attention just as much as the first half. Actually a movie should do that for the ENTIRE duration of a film, truthfully.

Towards the close of the film as things begin to close in on you as you get to play a detective as to who the mystery killer is; IF there is a killer; IF there even is a Jane Russell; IF Anna Fox really thinks she saw what she saw, etc.

The film does make it hard for you to differentiate between what is fact - or fiction - but not by very much. Lastly, the character of Dr. Anna Fox is a psychologist, right? Yes. But she is an agoraphobic -the movie NEVER discloses HOW she became one.....

    Thanks Travis! I enjoyed it, but totally agree the first half was a bit slow... Hitchcock-y feel to it... Good twist at the end!

      Absolutely - LOVED the twist @ the end, but the beginning - yeah...like all the kids use to say at school: "too slow!"

    I think it deserved a B I thought once it took traction it got better and the acting was great from everyone. I do feel a lot was on the cutting room floor though and definitely stream worthy but we won’t be seeing any Oscar buzz from it:)

      If I review a Netflix movie, it is because it was scheduled to be released into theaters but it was sold to them and I wanted to see it anyways :)
