Travis' Breakdown:

30 years! It has been 30 years since the first movie and that was in 1988! I was only 8 years old when the first film came out. Wow! This is a movie that not only I, but trillions, and gazillions of us grew up on.

It totally does not matter to me that the first one was rated R and this one was rated PG-13, and it certainly does not matter that I read so many negative reviews/remarks and what people/critics were saying about this film online- the only opinion that counts is MINE! Lol!

I will be like the character in the film Mary Junson and be REAL and uppity - THIS MOVIE WAS AWESOME AND LIVELY AND PERFECT AND JUST WHAT WE NEED IN THIS ROUGH PANDEMIC TIME!

I could watch this movie over and over and over again! The only character that I was so super duper excited to see was Lisa McDowell-Joffer! I kid you not - it looked like Shari Headley had not aged in over 30 damn years!

She not only looked good; she looked like royalty and she fit right into Zumunda as a Queen! Whoever was the costume designer for the film needs a damn Oscar!

The wardrobe and costume were on point! Dammit! I wanted to hop into my television and just meet the wardrobe Queen! To cast Leslie Jones & Tracy Morgan in the sequel....I knew - I just knew that it was going to be off the chain hilarious as can be with these two.

Jones made the movie funny. She did! I am laughing so hard as I am writing my review. My girl Leslie was just too damn funny. When she had that scene from the past with Eddie when Lavelle was conceived and what she did with that candle - WOW!

She had me on the floor laughing! I will admit that the movie exceeded my expectations, and I have been waiting for the movie for as long as I heard about its inception, but for as many times as I watched the 2 trailers for it, and I had those trailers totally memorized because I am obsessed with these films, there were certain phrases and scenes that were not in the movie that I picked up on because I memorized the trailers that I saw. Lol!

The way that the movie came on was just as the first and the way that they introduced King Akeem and Queen Lisa and how they referred back to the first movie in showing flashbacks and certain songs. OMG! It was so romantic!

This movie was awesome and do you want to know what else was awesome, too? The Barbershop! Y'all know that those barbers should not be alive!

Well....let me take that back......there are some people that live past the age of 110......but let's be serious - it is rare, but to see those characters return along with all of the original cast members except Akeem's mother because she is dead in real life (RIP Madge Sinclair). The musical numbers that were done in the film! Wow, to that too. How did they keep that under wraps?

I felt as if this movie was like a new millennium hip hop sequel to Coming 2 America! For real! I was super impressed! Everything and I do mean everything was 1,000% fierce, flawless, and perfect! I would not change a damn thing! Seeing Semmi and Akeem reunited again and Oha. McDowell's, Cleo, etc.

It brought back so many memories. Wow! It really took me back! Next, I want to expound on the performance by KiKi Layne who portrayed the role of Meeka - their oldest daughter. She was a total bad-ass. There is no way around it. I will have to be raw and without no filter.

She was strong and spoke her mind, her truth, the whole nine and her wardrobe was that of a strong warrior and a fierce leader! She was on point! I loved Meeka!

Casting Jermaine Fowler as the long lost son was a good idea - I feel he played a good role at it. He was a Queens savvy native at that! In conclusion, the movie was perfect, funny, and royalty and I will say it again, Lisa, Mary, and Meeka ALWAYS looked great in the film in what they wore and how they performed! Damn!

I loved this movie and it so was worth the wait!! ITS A MIGHTY MIGHTY GOOD MOVIE! WHAT A MOVIE! WHAT A MOVIE! WHAT A MOVIE! WHAT A MIGHTY GOOD MOVIE!

    1. Oh, the wardrobe was stellar and so on point! I could not get over it! It was like watching it in 3D or 4K UHD or something and not even on Amazon Prime. She deserved an award for that wardrobe, baby! Standing ovation!!!
